In 2016 I contributed an Afterword to The Last Stop:Vanishing Rest Stops of the American Roadside by Ryann Ford (Introduction by Joanna Dowling; Foreword by Joe Ely).  The following year I wrote the St. Thomas Apostle Church entry in Art Deco Chicago by Robert Bruegmann published by Yale University Press, and in 2018 my chapter “Reform the National Register of Historic Places” was published in Historic Preservation: The Next Fifty Years, Eds. Wagner and Patterson.

In 2025 I completed work with architect Ryan Chester on Chicago Rebuilt: Recreating Chicago in a Modern Context for University of Chicago Press and a chapter on San Antonio Art Deco for Art Deco:France to North America and the World, How A Design Style Influenced our Lives with Octavio Robles and Jean Louis Marin.  In 2026 my article on the Diversity Deficit in the National Register of Historic Places appeared in the journal Planning Theory and Practice.
